Unrelated to the Talea project, Parkbench Architects enlisted me to photograph the Penn District location of Roberta’s, which boasts wall to wall windows and floor to ceiling character with all of the local-artist produced graffiti and ‘street art.’
Talea Penn District
As a fan of Talea’s beers, it was exciting to get the assignment to photograph one of their new locations, as part of the growing empire. The space featured the sunny and bright design of the other locations, while including the reclaimed floors and industrial ceiling to pay homage to the space’s history.
The Hook
The Hook is a mix between a circus and a burlesque show at Caeser’s Palace in Atlantic City. Spiegelworld, who has a running show in Las Vegas, and similar shows and restaurants around the world brought me down to the beach to shoot the theater and adjacent restaurant and bar spaces.
35 Sutton Place
TC Browne & Co renovated this beautiful split-level space on the river’s edge. The double-height of the living room provides ample views to the open sky, a true rarity here in NYC.
Google St John's Terminal
Google’s offices at St John’s Terminal in the West Village was such a large project that this gallery is going to be double sized just to accommodate. Constructed by Turner, the project included every amenity one could want in their office, including multiple dining areas and a large amphitheater.
Santander Brooklyn
I have worked with Wade Ray many times, and the company has worked with many financial institutions, some in pop-up spaces and others in more permanent spaces like this bank. The construction wonderfully restrained the modern touches to allow space for the historic deco architecture to breathe and overwhelm its visitors with its beauty.
Sweet 'N Glow Salon at TWA Hotel
To further enhance the 1960s feeling of walking into the TWA Hotel, I worked with MCR Hotels to capture the uber-pink Sweet N’ Glow Salon at the aforementioned hotel.
L'Avenue
Home to many SNL afterparties, the “haute-cuisine” restaurant L’Avenue sits above Saks Fifth Avenue. Their cozy wooden lodge lounge provides an interesting clash to their more austere but contemporary dining area, all introduced by a beautifully lengthy stained-glass entry.

Having studied filmmaking in college, I have always had a knowledge of motion picture production which forayed into a career into photography, so when a client requests a video it’s always a good way to flex my dormant moving-camera muscle. This video was produced for Black Wren Studios.
Brickell City Center
Though most of my work is in the NYC area, I’m often tasked to shooting outside of the state for many projects, including the Brickell City Center, which I have shot a few times for Simon Properties. This massive hybrid-indoor/outdoor shopping area capitalizes on the beautiful Miami weather to brings crowds in droves.
The Sidney (1 BR)
Art walls have become quite trendy in recent years, and they take up space while also providing some beautiful colors and contours to aid the furnishings in creating a tone and feel for the space. This particular apartment, somewhat of a tight space, brings in a fresh breath of air with the art wall in lieu of a tv. A lovely respite away from screen time.
The Sidney (Studio)
When there isn’t a ton of space to shoot, extra content can be produced by examining the room on a smaller scale and shooting vignettes. Often I’ll move designs around in a space just to create a shot with the atmosphere of the room consolidated into.a single view point.
251 W 117th St
In NYC there are plenty of small spaces, which is why having a wide angle lens can help. But often the help that comes in capturing these shoots is in the designer, and how the space is laid out and utilized. It’s always easier to shoot a beautiful, well designed space.

Here are some amenities for a new development in Long Island City, featuring a game room, lounge, gym and lobby.
4 Ways to Shoot a Living Room
Often with our clients, when we first begin the process of shooting, we’ll take some handheld photos of the space sot he client can better see how the space looks through the lens to understand what can be captured. We usually give a few choices to the client before we mutually finalize the correct angle to shoot a room, but sometimes a client needs more than one angle. Here, in four photos, is a living room shot in a few different ways. I would usually push the client in a certain direction but there is value to each of these different perspectives. Which would you choose?
Hoboken Studio
Most studios are either one interrupted area or an annexed area but the studio below has a more interesting layout. Were the bedroom to have windows and a door, it could be legally called a bedroom but it remains a studio, and a unique one to boot.
One Ten Lounge
One Ten Amenities
This has definitely been touched upon in other posts but it’s so wonderful when a space is artfully lit so that most of the work of a photographer is already done. That isn’t to say there isn’t a skill in finding the light, much like a photographer would shoot in natural light but since the photos are shot to highlight the space, and the lighting of a space like below does the same, it makes for a more harmonious shoot when those two factors work in tandem.

There’s something about wallpapers that just gets me so excited. Maybe it’s the color, maybe it’s that I’m a sucker for patterns, but wallpapers truly inspire joy and I love when I’m entering a home to shoot and there is wallpaper everywhere. Sadly, only one room in this unit had wallpaper but it was enough to fill my fix.
The Benjamin
Outside of the city, in New Jersey, there are tons of developments in the process. Some of which are nestled right at the train station so you can easily get to the city, or wherever else you need to go, at your doorstep.
